Privacy Notice

BestHistory is local-first. This notice explains what stays on your device, what limited data leaves the device for account, payment, or AI features, and who processes it.

Local data

  • Your complete browsing-history database, normal history records, Private Mode database, Private Mode password, and .bhbackup files are stored locally by default.
  • BestHistory does not sell browsing data, use it for advertising, or provide it to data brokers.

Optional AI processing

AI features are optional and user-initiated. AI Recall may send your query, selected existing tags, and up to 12 local hints containing a domain and/or page title. AI Organize may send batches containing domain, display name, current tags, up to 5 recent page titles, visit count, and page count. BestHistory does not send the complete browsing-history database, page contents, Private Mode records, or backup files for these AI features.

Accounts and service providers

Supabase provides authentication, entitlement storage, and Edge Functions. Google may provide OAuth sign-in. Resend delivers authentication email. Paddle processes purchases and subscription administration as Merchant of Record. Volcano Engine / Doubao Ark processes BestHistory AI requests.

BestHistory receives account and entitlement data such as account ID, email, preferred language, trial/plan status, validity dates, and payment-provider identifiers. BestHistory does not receive or store full card details.

Private Mode

Private Mode records are encrypted locally. The Private Mode password and decrypted private records are not sent to BestHistory servers.

Payments

BestHistory Pro is offered as $2.99/month, $24.99/year, or a $59.99 one-time Lifetime purchase. Paddle processes checkout, tax, receipts, refunds and subscription administration as Merchant of Record. Google is not the seller. BestHistory does not receive or store full payment-card details.

Sharing and use restrictions

Data is transferred to third parties only when necessary to provide the feature you chose, operate authentication/payment, secure the service, or comply with law. It is not sold or used for personalized advertising.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use

The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

BestHistory limits Google/Chrome user data to the disclosed, user-facing purpose of helping you organize, search, privately manage, back up, and rediscover your browser history and related account/entitlement operations.

Retention and deletion

You can delete local BestHistory data in the extension. Signing out removes the local session. To request deletion of server-side account data, contact besthistory@126.com.

Security

Data sent to BestHistory services is transmitted over HTTPS. Authentication credentials, payment secrets and AI provider secrets are kept server-side and are not included in the extension package.
